Designing the Future of Store Management at Swell
As Product Design Lead at Swell, I’ve played a key role in designing and launching Storefront Editor 2.0—a major upgrade that gives merchants greater control and flexibility over their storefronts. I also contribute to the ongoing evolution of our customer dashboard, where users manage store data, products, and promotions. With no dedicated UX researcher on the team, I’ve relied on my e-commerce expertise and strong collaboration with engineering to make fast, thoughtful design decisions.
The Challenge
Merchants needed a more intuitive, responsive way to build and edit their storefronts. The original experience made it difficult to visualize changes in real time or customize layouts without developer support. Meanwhile, the dashboard required refinements to make managing a store more efficient and user-friendly.

My Role
I focused on refining and shipping key components of Storefront Editor 2.0, ensuring the experience was both flexible and easy to use. Working closely with engineering and product teams, I helped streamline the editing flow, refine visual details, and address usability challenges. I also designed new sections of the dashboard, improving navigation, product management, and sales workflows. To support speed and efficiency, I contributed directly to development using Git, Tailwind CSS, and Liquid, helping bridge design and implementation.
What We Built
Storefront Editor 2.0 introduces a modular, drag-and-drop editing system that allows merchants to make real-time changes to their storefronts with confidence. The updated UI supports flexible customization without complexity, even for users without a technical background.
The redesigned dashboard provides clearer insights and more intuitive tools for managing products and promotions. These improvements support faster decision-making and reduce friction for store owners handling day-to-day operations.
Impact
The beta launch of Storefront Editor 2.0 in February received strong feedback, with users highlighting the editor’s ease of use and flexibility. Updates to the dashboard have improved efficiency and reduced the learning curve for merchants managing complex tasks.
Looking Ahead
Swell is a fast-moving environment, and working here has pushed me to make quick, informed decisions that balance user needs with product constraints. I continue to focus on scalable, user-centered solutions that help merchants grow and adapt as their businesses evolve.
